Covers of Jars of Clay songs by big fans of the band. Worth a listen!
Hey everyone! We are a group of individuals around the East Coast that have individually recorded cover versions of Jars of Clay songs. They are being made into a CD right now, and the Jars of Clay band itslef will get a copy, as will a lot of Jars fans. If you like Jars of Clay already, you're going to get a kick out of hearing these different versions. Some of them are true covers, and some are comletely rearranged with added instruments, solos, and song arrangements. If you've never heard of Jars of Clay, you can still enjoy this music, because the original songs are very good. You may want to look into the real Jars of Clay music, as it's also very good. Josh

Story behind the song
This song was recorded through a portable DAT while simply setting the two mics out towards the audience, but closer to the front of the mains. Without having an elaborate sound system to run the DAT through, it came out better this way. The concert, in the fall of 2000, in Newnan, Ga, was played outdoors at the end of a youth rally. Although we played an original show for the youth, we wanted to incorporate an upbeat cover song that almost all of them, or anyone, could relate to - hence, Like A Child. It has a great message as well. As far as the style goes, Like A Child is one of those Jars songs that you can cheat and play in standard tuning and have it somewhat sound like their EABEBE tuning. Hey, we don't have multiple Taylors. We also enjoyed some of the touches Jars put on this song from their independent project, Frail. For example, the beginning and reoccurring guitar lick and the recorder at the end of the song. So, we attempted a little bit of that with our own touch. -Waymark Mile
