A Dashboard Spiritual, basically a get back to your roots kinda song!
Artist picture
James Penny is a latecomer to music, but his arrival is only the beginning of the journey. James's music is a blend of roots/country with a few rough edges to add character. The workingman’s blood and guts provide the topics for most of his songs with a few introspective moments thrown in for good measure

Story behind the song
The first half was written years ago and never touched again, then in the spring of 2004 I revisited this song again and added the much needed "Mud Pie". Arranged to get the audience participaction effect.
Lyrics
©James Penny 2004 When you find you’re alone at last In a world that’s much to fast Just slow down and let every one pass And ride a Dirt Dirt Road And you look up to ask why And then the rain falls from the sky Just kneel down and make mud pie On a Dirt Dirt Road ~chorus~ Dirt Dirt Road that’s not too wide Dirt Dirt Road with a ditch on both sides You can’t hide, on a Dirt Dirt Road Where the sky is mostly blue And the grass is full of dew Shed your skin and you’ll feel new On a Dirt Dirt Road ~chorus~ ~bridge~ On this road of life you’ll find some stone On this road you’ll find you’re not alone Just hold hands and make yourself a home On a Dirt Dirt Road ~repeat chorus~

Great bluegrass feel. Nice pickin' and bowin'. Harmonies are tight.
