A song that might be cool if I actually played live shows (and had a real band and wrote my own music and could sing well......)
A solo punk band with songs ranging from politics to social issues to evolutionary biology.
Lacking any real musical talent, I decided to use Punk-o-Matic to create some generic punk backgrounds to the various songs I had written. Recorded at low quality through a computer microphone, the songs are not musical masterpieces but the lyrics are still strong. Give it a listen, you might enjoy it.
Lyrics
A surge so sudden, without order or origin
Shockwaves dissipating throughout the throngs
Like a virus feasting on the flesh of men
Infections exacerbated by a deafening song
Each beat rippling smoothly from the drum
Another gallon to fuel a culminating flame
A bright and terrible edifice of a fire hums
Scorching man, woman and child the same
It’s the pit
Up and down, up and down,
And when it hits,
Up and down, up and down,
A primal rage,
Up and down, up and down,
That can’t be caged,
Up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down.
The tempo is accelerating with exponential growth,
Fists pumping faster with each note that transpires,
Circles of insanity random like holes in bread loafs,
Circumnavigating tides walking high trapeze wires,
Thought process drained by loud cacophonies,
Do what your peers do, there’s no I in us,
The loyal supporters belting out in harmony
Joined by all the bouncing masses in the final chorus
It’s the pit
Up and down, up and down,
And when it hits,
Up and down, up and down,
A primal rage,
Up and down, up and down,
That can’t be caged,
Up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down.
