Dave Garland, singer songwriter from the Pacific Northwest, provides a soulful mix of rock, blues, pop, and country. Writing songs that make you feel intense emotion, weather happy, sad, or sexy, is at the top of his agenda. The ability to become one with a variety of vocal styles, has given him a broad base of tonalities to work with. As an accomplished guitarist, keyboardist, composer and producer, he can take a song from start to finish. This has opened the door of exploration, into a songwriting journey. One that has kept the fire burning for over twenty years. Writing lyrics and music from a very early age, Dave Garland found his passion in music.

Lyrics
Eight years old and two small hands Just a boy out collecting cans I saw the sky so blue above my head The summer suns so hot and I was sunburned red This small town with no blacktop roads Two fast feet and that’s how I roll I didn’t have no time to make no plan Needed to get that money fast so I just ran I just ran Past the Johnson farm Through the field by the old red barn Past the tree where I broke my arm By the pond where I fished with my old man I just ran Just fifteen at the first school dance Saw Christine and my one chance Time stood still as I took her hand All that I was feeling, would she understand And so we danced and then we swayed Right then and there true love was made Somehow this boy feels like a man And when the dance was over I just ran I just ran Across the lunch room floor Down the hall by the old school store Up the street to an old fruit stand To tell the world this boy feels like a man I just ran Five years past and it went so fast Christine and I were married at last Right there in our home, having our first child But when Doc Murphy walked in the room he didn’t have a smile He said I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad It’s a baby boy and looks like his dad But as for Christine, well I’m sorry son she’s in gods hands All that I was feeling, could she understand Why I just ran And I just ran Right through my front door Jump the stair with the broken board Asked the lord to help this man understand I just ran Past Union Square To the church where I say my prayers Asked the lord to help this man understand Why I just ran I just ran
