A unique blend of jazz, neoclassicism, expressionism and Spirit.
When God gives you a gift you have two choices: Use it for your own glory or share it for His glory. The latter is better.

Story behind the song
It was the mid 80's. I was in high school. Why did it seem like all the girls I really wanted to get to know better regarded me as only a friend. Especially Phyllis. This poignant song is mainly focused on my feelings for her. This is a rare actual recording of a studio session where I was playing. There are no edits --warts and all as the saying goes. www.dreamintoreality.us
Lyrics
Looking through the windows of my soul Many shades of lonliness, longing for just one caress Never held a hand that wasn't cold Waiting for the day this all would change I tell you how I feel about you How I love you now more than ever You say you understand but that your feelings for me aren't any deeper Friendship has grown stronger, turning into love intense with emotion Hiding there inside you, it's your chance to let it show I look into your eyes I hear the words you say but I never listen Read between the lines, I give you signs You see but don't pay attention Conversation doesn't make communication better for us Can we bridge this gap between us A great divide has separated Just yesterday I heard you say "Only a friend" Leave things that way and I will stay only a friend Touch the inner chamber of my heart Set aglow a flaming light to shine away the dark of night Burning with desire, passion's spark Lights a fire just as you do mine Who decides the way we can or cannot feel about each other Where the boundaries used to be are not there anymore Disappearing are imaginary lines we can't cross over I wonder how we seem to be so close, so far away You look at me but always see only a friend It's not that way, I cannot stay only a friend Only a friend Only a friend Only a friend Copyright 1990 Dream Into Reality Music/ASCAP www.dreamintoreality.us
