Rhyming since 17, ill tarzan is both a charismatic & prolific emcee. Hosting a range of open mics with longtime collaborator & friend "Conquest" since 1998, ill tarzan has been a Brooklyn icon for underground hip-hop. Subtle in his ubiquity, he's been garnishing neighborhood accolades around his hometown of Brooklyn, NYC as a hip-hop artist. Citing Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z & more recently, Kanye West as his influences, he relies on real life experiences from a positive pro-black viewpoint to illustrate his music.
His first solo offering "Life Music" brings a selection of soul and grit to the listener in a way only a Brooklynite can. Somber yet silly, intelligent yet relaxed, spiritual not esoteric, "Life Music" is a good freshman entry for this 23 year old Fort Greene emcee.
The sophmore project: ill Tarzan as the "Gorgeous Killa" in "Crimes of Passion" is a more darker, more personal album and is the in depth follow-up to "Life Music" Look for it in May 2005
