The band Suspicious Character was initially composed of Lara on vocals, Clear on guitars, and JC on bass. The band was born one ordinary evening of May 2004, on JC’s rooftop where the band rehearsed for the first time, covering songs from the Sundays, Letters to Cleo, and Rocking Horse Winner among others. However, not wanting to be labeled as just another acoustic trio, the band has been continuously searching for a drummer to complete the set so as to achieve the sound, which is to be distinctively Suspicious Character. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology and the Internet, in comes Rica armed with her drumsticks to save us from utter oblivion. With her razor-like drumming, Rica has provided the missing piece to the puzzle that is Suspicious Character. When it comes to musical influences, it is very much diverse, with the band members coming from metal, grunge, punk, and alternative rock influences. All the elements from these genres all come into play in fusing together a sound that would be Suspicious Character’s own. The band is now looking forward to moving on and making their own music with catchy guitar riffs, crunching bass, and thunderous drum lines mixed with soothing vocals to create their own infectious mix of alternative/indiepop rock. The only safe thing to say,however, is that when it comes to the recipe the band follows when it comes to making their songs, there isn’t really a strict one, anything goes, as long as it rocks! Yis!
