I do what I do because I understand things best when I get them down in rhyming lines set to music. I do what I do because I believe that my Heavenly Father enjoys the songs that few hear just as much as He enjoys the songs that everyone hears. I do what I do because it's one of the best ways I know how to worship God, encourage friends, and uplift the body of Christ.

Story behind the song

I seriously started this seven months before it finally got finished...the verses have stayed the same since the beginning, but the chorus and the theme changed three times.

This is the message that became clear to me the morning I finally finished the song: He knows I love Him, and He knows I'm trying to serve Him, even when I miss the mark. And thankfully, He extends His grace time and time again.
