Story behind the song
A song about living on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Lyrics
Enter the harbor come out of the blue In the lea of the breakway I'll be waiting for you Safe in the stillness from the wind and the waves Shelter from Superior and her watery graves North of north there's a place for me where the timberwolf sings to the banjo Near the icy water's edge where the arctic winds blow North of north there's a place for us a refuge where we have gone to stay You can call it peaceful or even paradise I call it home: Grand Marais The seagulls glide to the song of the pines Down by the rocky beach, the sun shines Drawn to the shore by a beacon of light If you have to leave it'll take all of your might North of north there's a place for me where the timberwolf sings to the banjo Near the icy water's edge where the arctic winds blow North of north there's a place for us a refuge where we have gone to stay You can call it peaceful or even paradise I call it home: Grand Marais
