While the sun is still there (Eric Chiryoku)
An online co-write with new age classical composer Eric Chiryoku (aka Wong) of Singapore, about remembering with deep love, someone who's passed away.
I'm easily inspired either by personal experiences, things said in conversation, being given a challenge, or being moved or amused by something. Many genres.
Story behind the song
This is a co-write with new age classical composer Eric Chiryoku (aka Wong) of Singapore and it's about the times we remember with deep love, someone who's passed away.
I was truly inspired after hearing his beautiful piece called "Remembrance" which he'd written as a tribute to his late parents who'd brought sunshine into his life.
It was a great honour for me that Eric liked the lyrics I wrote to reflect that.
Eric's beautiful first album "Winter Story" comes highly recommended.
FROM HIS PAGE
"Eric Chiryoku was recently nominated for "Best Composer" , "Best Male Solo Artist" for IOMA 2007. In 2006, he was nominated for "Best Soundtrack" for the song "Winter Story" in International Online Music Award and has won widespread critical acclaim around the world"
Sincere thanks to Eric of course, and to my friend Dawn Diamond (Scotland) for recording the song..

Lyrics
Here I stand remembering laughter,
Things youd say and the things you would do,
How you shone your light on me,
Now its seeing me through.
Time can heal in ways unknown,
That make us feel some relief from the pain,
Time's a master he knows the score,
Now were smiling again.
Chorus
But oh for the chance to hold you again,
Oh for the chance to show that I care,
But youre still with me, your love still shines
While the sun is still there.
Often times I think of moments,
Happy times that you gave us with love,
How your smile could brighten our day,
Like the sunshine above.
If you see from where you are,
Then you will know that I’m shedding a tear,
Seeing visions, happier times,
When you were still here.
CHORUS
Oh, for the chance to hold you once more,
Oh, for the chance to show that I care,
But you’re still with me, your love still shines
While the sun is still there.
Ending
Memories floating through my mind,
I smile, I cry, to blue skies I stare,
Please believe me, your love still shines,
While the sun is still there.
