Free Weed is a five-member metal/thrash metal band from Prophetstown, Illinois, USA, Midwest, the Quad Cities area (northwest Illinos to be geographically precise). Members include: Mike Moody is the singer, VJ Dixon and Matt Moody play guitar, Jenny Dixon plays bass, and Jay Adkins is the drummer. Their original songs are fast and driving, with the focus on energy, and with killer leads too. That seems to be the thing that’s lacking in a lot of new metal these days. We all grew up with the same sense of old-school values, listening to shit like Metallica, Megadeth, Mercyful Fate, Zoetrope, Anthrax, Slayer, Pantera, Testament, Metal Church, Exous, Suicidal Tendencies, the list could go on and on, but you get the idea.
