A homeless man stopping me asking for money
I find myself wanting to just walk away
He tells me he’s hungry and down on his luck
I find myself staring with nothing to say
They say it’s a sign of the times
Or are we just blind refusing to see how we are
How can Your light shine through me
If I’m unwilling to be
A vessel that’s broken and yielded to You
Take all that I am
And leave nothing of me
So all they will see when they look is Your face
An old woman walking the streets of the city
Her hopes and her dreams shattered long long ago
Desperately needing for someone to tell her
There is a God and that He loves her so
They say it’s a sign of the times
Or are we just blind refusing to see how we are
How can Your light shine through me
If I’m unwilling to be
A vessel that’s broken and yielded to You
Take all that I am
And leave nothing of me
So all they will see when they look is Your face
