Story behind the song
Fuck this song. All right, see, this is the one that took the longest to get right, or at least as close to right as we could come. I re-did the vocals probably twenty five times(we usually just turn on the mic and go at and first take, bam, done), but this time I just couldn't get it. This is as close as I got, and I think they sound pretty cool(probably get sued over the pretty obvious Bowie refrence though). Musically, my brother rocked out the live chorus drums in like two or three takes, but getting the keyboards and chorus right took far longer than anything else we've done. Overall though I'm pretty happy with what we finished with. I was trying to write something like the Cure's "Disintigration" and as usual failed, but I still think it's a strong track. ---BEN
Lyrics
Tonight the stars shine for us like there's no one else in the world And I'd rather become dust then forget this moment forever more Cause everytime you speak every word that escapes from your lips Makes me feel both fragile and meek I'd rather die then forget a moment of this CHORUS I'll grind myself into dust Your meant to remember a night like this for as long as you can And even though the events may change there's a purpose I hold in my hand So lets dance to "Just Like Heaven" like there's no on else left There's no place that I'd rather be then right here, right now and whatever is left. Repeat Chorus
