Fruit Tree was formed in the summer of 2000 with the intention of creating beautiful, dark, atmospheric and melodic music, by blending heavy riffs with melodic guitars and death/black metal vocals with clean female vocals. The resulting style is a mixture of more contemporary metal mixed with the melodic tradition of 80’s style metal and is constantly evolving. The band played several live dates over the next year, impressing enough to be offered gigs with Napalm Death, Nile and Lostprophets. In the autumn of 2001 work begun on the recording of an album ‘Sunset’ which was finally completed a year later. After many gigs and line up changes the band finally had some success, stumbling upon a strong reliable line-up and getting a record deal with Casket.
