Ellipsing Al-Gol

An upbeat piece full of stellar sounds and thoughtful progressions...if you could orbit a pulsar, this is what it would sound like...
Artist picture
Soundscapes composed on thought of exterrestrial life and the wonders that the universe holds.
This is a project put together by myself from anything and everything that has inspired me musically. It is a total abandonment of the usual rock thoroughfare as well as an attempt to put the mysteries of life on other worlds into musical compositions.

Story behind the song
This was a piece partly inspired by some trance I have been listening to. I was originally trying to finish up the second piece I had been making, but instead a totally new framework of ideas came to me, and I decided to run that course instead, thus making this piece. I imagined the pulsar of Cyngus X-1 (also a great Rush song). It was one of the first pulsars that we knew about. In my astronomy class, there was also a mysterious star named Al-Gol, which was a pulsar like Cygnus X-1. Though I do not know the language that this name is, I do know that it translates to "Devil Star", so named because it would "appear and reappear" in the sky. This is actually the "pulsing light" that the star gives off when it is rotating. I though this was an interesting name, and to me, this piece gives sound to the thought of being close to this mysterious star and watching it "pulse". The pulsing rhythm in this piece helps signify that.
