Story behind the song
If you look at life like it's a mountain...everyone's climbing to the top...most slip and slide but keep climbing...other don't. This song is about Alcoholics and Drug Addicts and their stuggle to climb the mountain. For some the burdens of life are too great and they keep sliding...this song has no happy ending...because for some that's the way it happens.
Lyrics
I've slid into a dark, dark place I tripped and fell upon my face My life is spinning out of control The pain consumes my Tainted Soul It's easy to let my Demons win Spend too much time in a bottle of Gin I'm loosing my grip and I can't hold on Too old, too tired and too far gone Strapped in on this Hell Ride Loosing Ground on a Down Hill Slide Once inspired and climbing to the top I slipped a few times but never stopped Something has changed and I don't know why Now I don't care if I live or die Living in Loneliness and Despair The mountain is harsh, life's not fair I'm loosing my grip and I can't hold on Too old, too tired and too far gone Strapped in on this Hell Ride Loosing Ground on a Down Hill Slide I'm looking down at a Hellish Abiss My Sober Life is something I miss I scratch and claw to no avail My ship sank after it set sail So easy, I'm tempted to let go Poisoning my mind abd Dying Slow I've lost my grip and I couldn't hold on Too old, too tired and too far gone Strapped in on this Hell Ride Hitting the Bottom on a Down Hill Slide
