Story told in song form, my first one in third person (omniscient, that is...way to go, honors english).
Solo acoustic act often described as the female Chris Carrabba. Oh wait, that's kind of redundant, isn't it?
"April"
and
"Lullaby"
Story behind the song
Uhh. It's a story. I was up late, and I felt like writing a song and...this came out.
Lyrics
it's 3:23 and she's missing his voice
he's laying in bed, wondering if he made the right choice
she wishes she knew who was in his dreams
he turns over, closes his eyes, thinks, "this is so much harder than it seems."
fast forward three more years
they're confessing to each other their
childish fears while they
pack up their memoirs of nearly half their lives
and she goes home and sings this song tonight
*won't you lullaby me, baby?
so softly and so sweetly
just talk me to sleep and bid me sweet dreams
drift away with me, and we'll see what it all means.
she packs up her guitar, thinks, "this is the big day."
he's driving down the road, picks up some flowers on the way
she plays his song, her eyes stay on his
he knew this was coming, he was waiting for this
the show ends, suddenly she's shy
she keeps her head down, won't even look him in the eye
he takes her hand, and he takes her away
he lays tracing lines in her hand, listens to her say
*
take my hand
take me
with you, i missed you so much
here i'll stand
waiting
for you, i adore you
my heart's sore, you
never knew it before.
i don't wanna wake up, baby
don't take me home yet, baby
let's just stay but a little while
blissful dreams
i'll hold onto you by all means
i don't wanna wake up.
