Story behind the song
dan and matt wrote the music for this a long time ago, and domingo recorded the guitars and drums about a year and a half ago, but matt was never able to come up with a melody/lyrics he liked until now.

i'll take my brittle bones and invest them in a life as currency except instead of green you'll have off-white trapped like a rat i've been useless for days but i've still got a crank i can turn out a phrase or a platter of lies i still hold on to them and oh surprise i never wanted to realize that there's a half empty now for every CHORUS: half full again this will never quite end 'cause i misplaced the key that could render me perfectly inside of the lines of a picture i drew when i was 5 i've been collected books and movies people leave at my home but i'm sick of the ones with the touch-cliche phone that says "baby can't you see i can't help but love you for the look in your eyes" i still hold on to the belief in surprise but no one's been coming 'round to collect their lies because they're half empty now i used them up to be CHORUS 99 different signs of the times on roadsides lined up for 99 miles there's a lot of things i think i like to see am i just not ready am i just not willing close your eyes count back from 10 and i'll have a new disguise all i want is to have offered a few surprises to a half empty now but it's alright it's ok i won't fight CHORUS
