A hooky rawk song. Starts out soft and hits into loudness. That's never been done before. Seriously. Score.

Inspiration can hit at the strangest times. Lately I've been inspired by some pretty offbeat memories, experiences, readings and ideas. My hope is that I can blend them with the words in my heart and stake my claim of originality. That being said, this is overflow parking. Here, have a seat.

Story behind the song
Wrote this on a table in Mythology class my sophomore year of high school. I had just recently discovered Incubus and was inspired by Boyd's straightforward mixed with metaphor style.
Lyrics
The eyes of dragons Aren’t too bright for me to see Even though they’re far away This open field is empty Save my car and me That’s how I like it anyway Cold air surrounds me Like the darkness of a tomb For as far as I can see Star constellations span Just like they always do And unfold for me to dream I’m alone And I don’t really mind The stars are forever; they will always shine For me, and for eternity You almost knew me But you always had it wrong When you said my head was in the clouds I realized it felt Like we were moving on Cause we were only falling down What drives a man To defy all that he knows To seek his heart to find the truth The stars are high But I’ll reach as far as they go Maybe I can get over you What fires your fantasies? What makes you think I’m resolute? There’s too much out there For me to revolve around you I’m alone And I don’t really care The stars are forever; they are always there On high to shine a light so bright Even I can find my way
