It seems that music has always been an integral part of my life. One of my brothers was a drummer who played in several rock and roll bands while I was growing up, so I got an early start with my music education. This experience gave me a personal desire to learn how to play the guitar and write songs.

Story behind the song
I wrote this song after reading the book "Child of Satan, Child of God" by Susan Atkins, who was Charles Manson's girlfriend. While reflecting on her story I recognized some similarities between her life and mine. The words flowed easily, as if they had always been there. The song addresses the difficult issues of living in our modern society. Many people feel isolated and angry, but everyone is ultimately responsible for their own actions and decisions. (Romans 1:18-20)

Very cool song....love the inspiration behind the song, everything you said in the description is so true, you did a great job with the lyrics in your song, really like the harmonies too, I'm big into harmonies. The guitar is excellent as well, very nice melody and production all the way around. I write and play acoustic folk/rock, this song almost has a celtic folk/rock feel to me. I also have friends in trouble, some have kicked their habits, some will not I'm sure, from all what I have lived thru and see still with my old friends, I wrote my song "Latest Casualty, I have posted on my musicpage... so I just had to say how I related to this song, and how well you did it. ;) Take care ~strummergurl~
