This page is dedicated to RMMS (rec.music.makers.songwriting)song challenges. The concept is very simple. Everyone suggests one or more names for a song and the list is voted down until there is one winning title. Everyone then writes a song with that title. The results are amazing. There are so many variations and no two are alike. These songs are my entries. They are listed in order of writing and a recorded commentary introduces each one. These are simply done using various software tools along with a Washburn guitar and a Yamaha keyboard.

Lyrics
Fallen Trees A freight train was coming through A million tears fell as frozen dew I heard the wind start to cry My world opened up to the black sky I closed my eyes and felt the pain As the bullets flew disguised as rain I saw my life passing by Riding the train to the other side *chorus* No place for the birds to sing No place to hold the leaves No place to hang a swing All there is are fallen trees The sun was warm upon my cheek As my eyes opened to take a peek I survived this ground attack The train was gone, but it left its track The mighty oak had stood so tall Cut down to size by a sudden squall. No more trees to block the sun A seed was sown, a new tree begun. *chorus* No place for the birds to sing No place to hold the leaves No place to hang a swing All there is are fallen trees A freight train was coming through A million tears fell as frozen dew I heard the wind start to cry My world opened up to the black sky *chorus* No place for the birds to sing No place to hold the leaves No place to hang a swing All there is are fallen trees
