At the first listen of Zana’s music you know she’s the real deal! With an eclectic mix of pop, R&B, and Eastern European soul and gipsy music, sprinkled her own brand of songwriter craftsmanship and emotive vocals, Zana is definitely a breath of fresh air. Born in Mostar, a beautiful town in former Yugoslavia, Zana had creativity in her blood .At five her father took her to her first piano lesson and at thirteen she won every dance contest in town. In 1993 the war in former Yugoslavia culminated and Zana’s life took an unexpected twist. Zana and her family found them selves being refugees, selling everything they owned for a bus ticket to anywhere, away from war. They ended up in Sweden, a small town called Katrineholm where Zana met Steven A. Garrick, a jazz pianist and composer who would be a major influence on her musical development. He had previously worked with such musical luminaries as Sinatra, Count Basie, Aretha Franklin and even as vocal coach for Barbara Streisand and Dionne Warwick. Zana started singing in his ecumenical gospel choir, and began taking music lessons. That is where she got the basics for her vocal expression. “The most important thing Sandy has taught me is that you should do what you love and do it wholly, and you will become the best at it, cause no one can be better at what You do then you!” At the age of sixteen Zana recorded her first demo at her high school and immediately Sony Music Sweden offered her a record deal, but it wasn’t the right opportunity. At eighteen she participated in a well known TV-broadcasted festival in Sarajevo, before an audience of twenty thousand people and has also played before big and small audiences all over Sweden. Continuing to develop as an artist, Zana incorporated a wide range of styles in her music. Zana is a mix of a commercial city girl and barefooted gipsy with wild hair. She is a passionate 24- year old and has that blend of raw talent, brains and charisma, which you will rarely find in any field. http://www.zanamusic.com/

Story behind the song
This is a very intimate song for me, where I confess that insecurities about my self prevented me from letting love into my life. I'm asking for a second chance... This song comes from true personal experience and means A LOT.
Lyrics
Did I ever tell you what a mess I was All those nights, all the desperate tears that I shed alone I was so afraid you'd see the weak in me, a part of me I couldn't share So I let you stay away Touch me, I don’t wanna hide it I’ve felt this way for some time Touch me, there’s no point to fight it Lord knows I’ve tried Hold me, please don’t leave me like this Give me one more chance The sun will shine on me again, if you touch me... it will be... A better day It took me some time to learn that I have to accept things about me I just can’t change There’s no point to regret all those nights I could’ve held you in my arms A little girl inside me cried She never felt pretty enough Touch me, I don’t wanna hide it I’ve felt this way for some time Touch me, there’s no point to fight it Lord knows I’ve tried Hold me, please don’t leave me like this Give me one more chance The sun will shine on me again, if you touch me... it will be... A better day Like a distant song, yearning to be heard I will open up my heart to you No more tears, no more lies No more crying at night No more.... Touch me, I don’t wanna hide it I’ve felt this way for some time Touch me, there’s no point to fight it Lord knows I’ve tried Hold me, please don’t leave me like this Give me one more chance The sun will shine on me again, if you touch me... it will be... a better day.... A better day
