Story behind the song

We were a bit budgeoned out of our heads, and we saw the local milkman - he had long blonde hair and was into grunge music.  We got into a conversation with him and he mentioned a time when some rude bois had climbed on the back of his float and he had to throw bottles at them to get them off (hence the line "bombed by the milkman").  He's a cool guy.
