Story behind the song
This song is a poem by Anastasia Krachkovsky. I liked it so I added a chorus and made it in to a song. It's a bit different from my usual stuff, I was going for a U2, DIDO feel.
Lyrics
PS some of the words in the poem had to be cut for flow purposes. Away from dirty streets With no trees and hideous houses – Stacked like unwanted boxes That won’t let Sunlight through No fresh air In the atmosphere Away from always-busy intersections Flooded with stinky homeless trash, So offhand Yet, proudly asking Business suits for some cash. Away from a place Where black and white look Dirty Grey And constant question “How are you?” means nothing And I say That “I am fine”, When I am not And nobody is. All lost. But honestly, who cares? Pleeeeeease! In the absence of sincere emotions I look around just to see same plastic smiles In bizarre distortions Away from all, Hop on my train of thoughts That takes me To my dreams And memories I’ve almost lost Of dear friends I want to hug and now miss Streets of my childhood Seem to me now Like pure bliss Chorus Take me home Away where its beautiful Take me home I'm tired and alone
