Bruce Bressack & Kenny Bressack
family acoustic piano pop
Artist picture
Acoustic/Piano songs that capture the emotion and spirit that resonates within all of our families.
Bruce Bressack has been writing and recording music since the early 60's. The family has been a source for many of his compositions --- from the song Canada (written about his cousin who left the U.S. during the Vietnam War), to the song Family of Mine (written about broken relationships), his songs attempt to capture the emotion and spirit that resonates within all of our families (for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, until, well, you know the rest).

Story behind the song
The words are from a poem that my nephew Kenny wrote in the late 60's. He died in a car accident a few years later. I wrote the music as a gift to my brother and his family.
Lyrics
I'm brooding over the fact, that when I think of you, it's of making love and falling asleep, and how limited it must be, to have those expectations, and to stay alone, to have those expectations, playing a thoughtful solitaire (repeat). I wanted us to be farmers caring for the Earth, and having breakfast with each other, very early in the morning when the sun starts to clear, starts to clear those dishes. I didn't want to listen to the time, making reservations with Apollo, only to sit and let the graying of your hair, be my measurement. But like faulty candles, we burn too fast, like faulty candles, we shed too little light (repeat). I wanted us to be farmers caring for the Earth, and having breakfast with each other, very early in the morning when the sun starts to clear, starts to clear those dishes. That when I think of you.
