Story behind the song
This song was the by product of spending too long out with the band, and not enough time in 'real life'. I'd been let down badly, once again, and I was feeling pretty low when I wrote 'Breathe'. You can probably tell.
Lyrics
As I look around, what do I see? I can feel the ground below me, I feel the breeze and I'm not to blame for what you did before but I'll wear your shame for evermore Breathe in the air, taking my time I got the sun in my hair, its all that is mine between you and I, it's all that I need I think its better to die on your feet then live on your knees. I've started smiling once more, my spirits are raised but I'm still not too sure of what I must face it feels like everyone's watching me like I was on show they make me feel bad but they're not to know. Your picture is old and its started to fade and it just reminds me of the mess we made You'll never find one to take my place seek and you may find but don't look my way. Oh, tell me why you didn't listen to me.
