CHORUS VOCALS: FRANKE - James and I put our heads together for the lyrics on this one, we were sitting in my room blazing a few hours away and we kept getting distracted by the TV so we came up with the words from there...
When you have one too many for the road, you wind up with 1-4 the Ditch...
Story behind the song
My brother James and I were jaming out and he was just playing the G - C - E - E riff on bass over and over and finally I screamed to keep playing that and the rest just came to be...funny thing though, we were recording practice one day and during the bass outro from the chorus, when James goes high, James low E broke so he improvised something and when we played it back it sounded great so we stuck with it!
As for the Lyrics, we put our heads together on this one, we just kind of examined our live's, how we were taught to accept and just wanted to somehow break the mold...what can I say we think big.
Lyrics
BASS/VERSE LEAD VOCALS: JAMES
GUITAR/CHORUS LEAD VOCALS: FRANKE
Verse 1:
This world we're born in to
Close you mind, they want your view askew
To buy in, you must sell out
(No doubt - background)
My friends that's not what this life's all about
But I, gotta hear the voice inside my head
Rather than follow in footsteps of the dead
But eyes, eyes wide
If you stay between the lines you'll be denied
Chorus:
I don't mind a doped mind,
it just can't be the way.
It's alright, you're all wrong,
got nothing left to say.
Cause I'm sick of the fighting, the screaming, the tears and the bleeding,
it won't go away.
I had enough,
I wanna make a change.
Verse 2:
Questioning thoughts, viewed as a threat
When you open up your mind, live free of regret
But will we see in time now
(No time - background)
All of the flaws within the caste design
If you want purchase all the tings to surround you now
Just a perfect mouse trap built up for the mind
And eyes, eyes wide
Take another piece of pie but never satisfied.
Chorus:
(Repeat)
(Guitar Solo - Brief Stop)
Chorus:
(Repeat)
