Written before the Gulf War started. Now it hits a little too close to home.

I'm an amateur lyric writer who has been posting my lyrics on various songwriter boards for the past few years. Every now and then someone offers to put music to one of my lyrics. Since I don't sing or play any instruments these collaborations are the only way my work can be heard. This is a collection of some of these songs. You'll see they are in a couple of different genres.

Story behind the song
This one is a good example of an internet collaboration. I live in the US, the singer and creator of the music lives in South Africa. The other musicians live in the US, Canada and Bulgaria. None of us has ever met in person.
Lyrics
Coming to Your Town Windswept desert beckons silently Where ancient cities were first born War torn people all await their reckoning For sins that are not their own Young children kick around a weathered ball Their wary mothers watch the sky Calm is broken by the siren’s call Now some of the innocents must die ... some of the innocents must die Familiar clouds are gathering The dogs begin to howl Sharpened sabers rattling They’re coming to your town ... they’re coming to your town Emerald lawns line quiet streets Confusion fills the air Change has come to the land of the free As each day brings new fears Familiar clouds are gathering The dogs begin to howl Sharpened sabers rattling They’re coming to your town ... they’re coming to your town In market stalls and shopping malls From Baghdad to D.C. Leaders make decisions That target your destiny They’re coming to your town They’re coming to your town
