"Joe Huettner makes the world a better place" - Jess Blasko, Ithaca, New York Originally from a small farm in South Central Pennsylvania, JOE HUETTNER's pursuits in music led him to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he plans to major in Songwriting. “I don't think people want to hear about sadness all the time, and that seems to be a majority of the songs on the radio now,” says Huettner. “I want to get some happiness out there, but without sacrificing musical quality. However, if a sad song is written, I won't hesitate to let people hear it. Unless it sucks." As well as Songwriting, Joe's interests include playing the electric bass, reading up on Roman history, and being a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Story behind the song
"It's wonderful to have such great musicians as friends. Tim Bojanowski is a great drummer, and he will be famous one day. He came in and just nailed it. Larry Schrof also came in and played both acoustic and electric guitars, and did a great job on both. They both really nailed the groove. I love hearing a song go from a demo to a final version, and I love hearing the difference - the demo helps you convey the idea, but people don't really know what you mean until they hear the final version. And I'm proud of this one." - J.G.H.
Lyrics
Reading the letters that clutter my closet Wiping the tears away from my eyes Tearing the paper and lighting the matches Rejecting our love as it dies And hoping the ashes don't rise Leaving my room and exploring the city Matching the smiles of the faces that pass Wonder if anyone really believes me When I say I'm through with the past I wonder how long this can last Chorus: It's not an easy task Pretending the past is far behind me But I like to think I pull it off with style I make my vow - here and now That no mistake I've made will haunt me Just ignore the strain behind my smile I'm trying to remember to forget i'm the king of no regrets Pretend that I've never lied to a girlfriend Pretend that I've got no scars to be healed Try to expose me with calm conversation You'll find that I'm so well concealed My words are one hell of a shield Everyone always remembers the errors When you think my way, you've never been wrong Life is a highway and I've got no mirrors I'm blissfully speeding along I may be blind, but I'm still going strong (Chorus) I'm still as hopeless a romantic as I used to be But all I needed was a change in my philosophy To make me realize that honesty just drags me down Rose-tinted glasses are the only things I'll ever need around... ...Around every corner is lurking a memory Waiting to catch me exposed and surprised But I'll face the challenge and come out victorious And challenge my face not to cry It may be hard, but I'm sure I'll get by (Chorus) ------- Joe Huettner: Bass, Piano, Synth, Vocals Larry Schrof: Acoustic and Electric Guitars Tim Bojanowski: Drums
