The title of the band "MARS ATTACKS" is not accidental. In the beginning of 2002 I left behind all instrumental music and many other musical projects to create a new band, which will perform an absolutely new style: the mix of hard and aggressive music with melodic stuff. I wanted to play a mix of drive and acoustic guitars, cosmic keyboards and killing vocals. It must be a mix of different styles, it must be something unearthly. So the title "MARS ATTACKS" became a title which may describe a concept of the band's style. With drummer Sergey Shevlyakov we begun to work on creation of a new band. First songs with female vocals, written in russian language were not successful, and long rehearsals didn't changed anything. In the beginning of the work in the studio there were a lot of problems with band's lineup. A meeting with vocalist Sergey Oganov and with lyrics-writer Evgeny Gradov, then addition of keyboard-player Sergey Aleshin and bassist Slava Voronov to lineup - it all made the wanted music style come true. We begun to write the songs which we wanted. Every song which you may fing on our site - it's a part of past life, written with different emotions. It's hard to write songs trying to make them commercial or someething like that, because the need of music creation comes from the heart but not from the mind. Every song is something unusual, located somewhere between darkness and light, written against all musical laws. During 2 years we worked on an album entitled "RAILWAY TO MARS". Professional length of service of bandmembers is about 10-15 years (both together and separetely): it was a long story beginning from live gigs in clubs, restaurants and casinos to concerts on large stadiums.
