alternative punk rock canada edmonton today and after
Nothing starts the day like a little T and A
Today and After began in June of 2002 by two friends, Dan Harden and Luke Franklin. Finding they had similar musical interests they then spent all of their free time writing and recording together. Three months later Luke decided he was going to travel and broaden his international horizons - the band was put on hiatus. Luke called Dan about a month into his travels and asked him to come and join him. He did. They begain to write and play shows. Luke spent 2 months in Scotland before he called Dan with the offer of traveling and taking their music to the world. With Dan's seasonal job just about finished for the year, it wasn't a tough decision - two weeks later he was in Scotland. Things were looking really good for the band as they were gigging their new set and building a steady fan base (not to mention being mobbed by hot women). Around this time "Today and After" received an offer to have an album produced by Likely Story in New Zealand. It was a great opportunity for the band. After 3 intensive months of pre-production and recording in New Zealand, Today and After headed back home to Canada to build the live band. Shawn Hagen (guitar) and Dean Evanger (bass) were added in early summer 2003, and a few months of patience finally paid off when the group found remarkably talented drummer Ted Reynolds the following fall. During the fall of 2003 the band released their first single, 'As You Were' off their yet to be titled first album which is due early in 2004.

Story behind the song
This song was written in New Zealand on one of the last days before we came home. Its about doing something you want to do no matter what people say.
Lyrics
/// As You Were /// If we didn’t leave / could there be a better time / we’ll show ourselves a life / see what can become / it will streak across the sky / fade into the night / concealed becomes a sunrise / a sunset upon the ended / time waits for no one / tell me how and when / will this all heal / if times waits for someone / we're yet to face that one / consume this spark and ignite the fire / the burning red
