It doesn’t take much time in listening to Wendisue’s music before you can rest assured that she’s here to stay. A true vessel of Funk and Soul with a twist of Jazz make the possibilities of her musical journey endless. Keeping with the jaunra of artists including D’Angelo, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, Wendisue prepares her music as food for the soul. The songs on HomeGrown, her audio demo, are a reflection of some of her strongest influences including Donny Hathaway, Chaka Khan and Ella Fitzgerald. Most influential however, is her father, Ellis Hall, former lead singer with ‘Tower of Power’, who tought her to indulge in her passion rather than run from it. Because of that passion (Which the good Lord meticulously placed inside of her) Wendisue was able to produce the majority of HomeGrown with less than a years experience as a producer/engineer. From the Funk driven, HipHop based single, ‘The Sickness’ to the soulful lullaby, ‘The LaLa Song’, Wendisue poetically covers the territories of life and loving with a refreshing outlook that makes you hungry for more.

Story behind the song
This is actualy the very first song I produced when I first got my sequencing gear. Aside from that, the song is about takin love for granted and just how unfortunate that is.
