Tribute to the Men & Women of USS Cole (DDG-67)
blind fayth music
Artist picture
With roughly 550 solo-gigs under my belt and enough originals to choke a horse... I spent about 10 years in the Baltimore circuit. Great times!
I've been playing Acoustic Classic Rock for the past 25-30 years. Under the direction of Studio Wizard Dave Roy I got the CD "So Jennerous" out in early 2003 and hope to have the next project "Second Coming..." in the can someday.

Story behind the song
Written October 14th, 2000. As a fellow Sailor, I felt an obligation to write this song in tribute not only to the Cole Sailors, but also to fellow service members serving abroad. My heart will always admire appreciate their service and sacrifice. The song was produced through the generous efforts of Mark Sayers and mailed off to the Cole victim's families within two weeks. Placed here with the blessing from my Dear Friend, Sharla Costelow. Remember.
Lyrics
Standing on the line... Staring at our flag of freedom. We can tow the line, We can make it real. Been waiting since our birth... Took that solemn oath. We guard the pulse of, liberty. Proud, it makes us realize... Why we're here? What this is for? Place the burden on our shoulders.... We'll take that & more. Reaching far & near, We dwell on the tip of the spear. Our resolve: God, self, & country. As we ride into tomorrow, Here together, side-by-side. We take contentment, With the knowledge in our minds... What we bought was no free ride!
