Story behind the song
But When Adeodatus awoke from his vision his mind was eased, like turning from an image of one's mangled face in the mirror, like the final beats of a palpitating heart. And Adeodatus turned from the Lord saying, “ My place is in darkness, and my home is in the shadows. When I shiver I am comforted for a time by fire without heat and truth without consequence. All the things that make us men we have seized, that we may become apparitions of gods. What do we know of rules? First, I must fasten my shining skin, my microchip brain surrounded by a jumble of wires. Can you see the man of god dancing in the cold?”
Lyrics
scratch your rights, your rules forget you, i'm a robot too. you thought maybe i was special. forget you, i'm a robot too. i have find my place in darkness i have broken all the laws truth is not a gentle speaker though it speaks through tired jaws and i, i'm a robot to 4x the wires in my head 4x i cant see the sky, cant make out the stars. it always rains. never mind your aching head, i am here, your sterile friend. whats happening? 4x
