A song about interesting people and their stories. Work in progress.
everyday ben keddy josh byra keene
A two man team that will grab you with bittersweet melodies and stomping riffs, and show you the soul in the machine.
is a convergence of electronic and alternative rock styles of music which will hopefully bring something exciting, different, and new to a stagnant musical landscape. is also the result of the friendship and collaboration of an electronic music producer (Josh Byra of ) and an innovative, gifted guitarist (Ben Keddy). We hope you enjoy our work, and encourage you to give us any feedback, whether it's praise or (constructive) criticism, because, just like any artist, we want to present the best possible listening experience...well, that and we really want to be big rock stars so we can get chicks to have butt sex with us. ;-D

Story behind the song
Josh's friend Bob was up visiting, so they went up to Keene to meet Ben. They met up with him where he worked, and they jammed for a little while. During this, Bob showed Keddy the DADDAD tuning on the guitar. Then, Josh and Bob went elsewhere. When they came back a few hours later to meet Keddy after work, he had written this killer countryesque riff. He then related this story about how he and Jake had met some guy in a bar who was a former heroin addict who had hit rock bottom, "found God" in a religious tract, and gotten himself clean and sober by living in a monastery for a couple years. It was such an interesting tale that Ben felt compelled to write a song about it. Later, Ben would visit Josh to record the riff, and we both had ideas for lyrics, but Ben felt (correctly) that Josh wasn't there for the meeting described, and Josh (correctly) thought Ben's lyrics didn't rhyme. So the song lay fallow for a few months, until after we lost our dear friend, Jake. Shortly thereafter, Josh decided he needed to commemorate Jake, as well as make some progress on what he felt was a very strong and viable song. So, he took the recording he had, built a lyrics structure using slightly modified lyrics Keddy had written, and new words of his own, composed a drum track and bassline in buzz, and threw it all together to make this track. We hope you like it.
Lyrics
I...think of the faces I've seen Can't recall the names I...look at the places I've been And see all the change I...just met a man, he told me: "I just found God!" I...listened with some disbelief But he was no fraud His...heroin pleads at his sleeve "Give me just one shot!" Then...and there knowin' he had to leave With Jesus he walked CHORUS: And when it overtakes you, Who do you run away to? Someone that you can pray to, Or something to sedate you? I...once had a friend who showed me Life's a fast, sweet ride He...never really fell asleep Even as he died He'd...never be thrown by defeat Thrilled him just to try These...memories so bittersweet Still keep him alive I...think of the faces I've seen Can't recall the names So...many places I've been Why'd they have to change?
