Our first. Melancholy guitar ballad. Not very different than the version that was up at the RDE page.
everyday ben keddy josh byra keene
A two man team that will grab you with bittersweet melodies and stomping riffs, and show you the soul in the machine.
is a convergence of electronic and alternative rock styles of music which will hopefully bring something exciting, different, and new to a stagnant musical landscape. is also the result of the friendship and collaboration of an electronic music producer (Josh Byra of ) and an innovative, gifted guitarist (Ben Keddy). We hope you enjoy our work, and encourage you to give us any feedback, whether it's praise or (constructive) criticism, because, just like any artist, we want to present the best possible listening experience...well, that and we really want to be big rock stars so we can get chicks to have butt sex with us. ;-D

Story behind the song
This song is a strange conglomeration of country guitar, hip-hop beats, and synthesized bass. Keddy was playing this beautiful and haunting guitar riff late one night, and it really spoke to Josh, somehow. He started coming up with lyrics as soon as he heard it, and then, over time, everything else started coming together. When we finally sat down and recorded the guitar and vocals (almost a year later), We were shocked and pleased at how well it all fit. The falsetto vocals you hear at the beginning and end are Ben Keddy improvising after a long night of failed attempts at recording (followed by one excellent take) the guitar in the basement of the Colonial Theatre in Keene, NH. The vocals with words are Josh on the second and third takes (i hope no more than the 3 people who heard it ever hear the first -Josh) in his room on a headset. The bassline and drums are done with Buzz and the guitar and vocals are recorded and processed in Cool Edit Pro 2, and it came out surprisingly well. We are very proud of this song, although it is unfinished (we still have yet to record the chorus, and the vocals are only the 2nd and 3rd takes, layered). This one is slightly different from the one Josh had up over at the RDE page in that a little bit of EQing has been done to attempt to reduce the overpowering bass and bring out the vocals and mids a bit better, but it is by no means final. Enjoy it, but don't hand it out too much (it's only half a song, after all).
Lyrics
and every day it's more of the same neverending torturous game wandering around with no aim wondering just who i became and the colors of the morning have faded out and the senses are all worn and abraded now and i'm tired of feeling torn and frustrated now i pray to find a way to escape and every day i feel so alone so far away from people i've grown i lay awake and gaze at the phone the space betrays what i've always known that it doesn't seem like i'm gonna make it out that if life's a dream, then i wanna wake up now cuz this silence screams all day, and it's way too loud i don't know how much more i can take and every day i feel so ashamed with all my bridges engulfed in flames out of focus and out of frame some days i can't remember my name and all my fears have gone and abated now and all my tears have evaporated now so many years i've wasted and waited out it's time for me to embrace my fate
