Let All That is Within Me
I am the proud father of two adult children. I have been playing the guitar for various church bands for over 25 years. All of these songs are original and reflect a preference to Christian music with a country rhythm.
Story behind the song
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples." But Jesus answered, "I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!" It is a fact that many people become embarrassed when we start discussing openly the eternal hope that we share as believers. God-fearing public figures including teachers and politicians, are strictly warned to keep their faith a matter of private concern. Still, God honors those who will not be deterred by the modern-day Pharisees who would endeavor to silence any mention of His goodness and grace.
Lyrics
People think I should be silent in the joy that I have found
Since I put my trust in Jesus – and I’ve walked on holy ground
But if I should keep my silence, then the stones along the way
Would be forced to shout “Hosanna!” to the King who comes this day
Let all that is within me cry “Holy to the Lord”
And may all my own ambitions be founded on His word
He is all I ever longed for – my Happiness is He
I will praise His name forever, for all He’s done for me
You may say I am fanatic - I might tread upon some toes,
But the joy that I’ve experienced is a joy that overflows
And I cannot stop proclaiming the things He’s done for me
For it changed me so completely when I heard of Calvary
So I give to you my Jesus – He’s the very Son of God
As He sits enthroned in glory, saints and angels now applaud
And let everything that has breath sing praises to His name
He’s the only One that’s worthy – and forever He’s the Same
