Story behind the song
A song of a troubled who attempts to commit suicide but is saved by her 13 year old
Lyrics
Verse 1 It was a cold breezy night, with whispers in the air, Rustling in the leaves, like spiders everywhere, No one was aware, of the havoc to be begin, A train passes by, and the ground begins to shaken’, A shiver down the spine, as the jack & coke makes it way, Down the throat of a troubled mother, trying to get away, She popped a couple pills, and washed it down with misery, Hoping the guilt inside her soul, would dissolve to history, Little did she know, nor little did she show care, For her child in the attic, hiding because of fear, Of the bad man down below, with his hands gripped round the neck, Of his wife, to end her life, in hopes to gain respect, He didn’t complete the job, but a statement then was made, That if you cross his path, you’ll be lying in a grave, How sweet the sound of death, but it was not the time, For she lived under the influence, when you can’t think, you are fine, ****Chorus**** Sometimes it is great, to just get away, From the problems & bloodshed, all things that I hate, I want to move on, I don’t think I can stay, These are the hardships people go through everyday, (2 x’s) Verse 2 One pill turns to two, two pills turns to three, Mixed with alcohol and depression, this is your time to grieve, You are losin’ sleep, before you are losin’ your mind, Pretty soon you’ll lose your job, if you don’t sit down and unwind, But you are afraid to sober up, afraid of what you’ll find, The insanity of the world, is too real in your mind, The power of addiction, holds your thoughts and every breath, But the power of your home, hold you word of your death, You feel so far away, but so close to the end, As your thoughts transcend, into suicidal thoughts, You find a bottle of pills, as you twist off the cap, The child in the attic, comes down and just snaps, He jumps to catch the pills, but they still slid down your throat, A tear shed his eye as he rips the suicidal note, He collapses to his knees, and takes some time to cope, As you look him in the eye, you catch a glimmer of hope, Chorus Verse 3 The picks up his courage, and throws her over his shoulder, Carried her out of the room, for soon it will be over, He put her in the car, turned the key to get it working, Thinking to himself, I can’t drive I’m only thirteen, He turned towards his mom, and seen death in her eyes, He was fighting within himself, as he put the car in drive, As he pulled up to the hospital, a know grew in his stomach, He put the car in park, but left the car runnin’, He rushed to the entrance, with his mom in his hands, As he tripped inside the door way, The med team looked and ran, They called over a stretcher, The boy grew relieved, The asked him what happened, he told them she OD’d, He knew she would make it, it was almost too late, The med team was about to take her, when the boy yelled out wait, He ran to his mother, and gave her forehead a kiss, A grin ran across his face and said, “it won’t end like this”, Chorus
