Elliott Smith passed away a long while ago now but upon hearing his last recordings I wanted to write a simple song to say goodbye.

catchy rock??? Listen for yourself.
Welcome, there isn't much to say that would make you understand what I do better than just letting you know who I am, which is Jay. I'm the kind of guy who would rather stay inside and write then go outside and play, forever. I'm the kind of guy who falls in love with almost everything, finds it hard to capture it all in a song so has to keep on going. I may be wrong but for me, a good songwriter can't be one that sits back and smells the coffee and relaxes, a real songwriter is basically (in a nice way) tormented by creation, and that is me.

Story behind the song
Elliott apperently committed suicide by stabbing himself fatally, very very sad and confusing to me. His music always gave out a sense of longing, it seemed like he was, most of the time, alone and confused. His talent almost overran the fact that he really wasn't operating normally. I wish someone could have helped him. I think he deserves something pretty.
Lyrics
If every hidden hand holds pieces then you just might find you're in an empty space (with music left to write) That gasping second chance no music, stop the dance quiet, you must have been (because you're whisperin) Nobody cries (nobody cries) until the last song eyes follow you down (follow you down) left on the ground my broken butterfly it hurts to hear you sing silence my ears are ringing still how could you disappear you know we need you now Nobody cries (nobody cries) until the last song eyes follow you down (follow you down) left on the ground my broken butterfly
