Story behind the song
To tell you the truth, I really have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote these lyrics. Dakota had recorded his riff for the song and Dan said go for it, so I wrote some lyrics. See, with me, I write lyrics and I don't know what those lyrics are about until after they are actually done. I guess now reflecting on it now, I'd say it's about something that happened with me and my dad. He had started talking shit about my girlfriend and how she wasn't good enough for me, and writing is my best release. Anyways, Dakota sent me the riff and I recorded vocals along that pattern and, in the THREE SONGS (!) that Dead Inside has recorded, this is probably my favorite.
