An amalgam of anything that passes thru one ear and out the other -- see our Interview page for details.
In our music, you'll hopefully find everything -- rock, orchestral, trip-hop, spacey/ambient, whatever -- most times all in one tune!! Mwah-ha-ha.... We follow no labels, guidelines, trends -- we write what we feel at any given moment; industrial one moment, folk the next. You might hear smatterings of Floyd/Waters/Gilmour, a touch of Mike Nesmith, some Metheny, maybe even some Vangelis or 80's pop, classic rock, sheer noise, Air, Terje Rypdal, and if you really stretch in order to make us seem more relevant to the times, maybe some of The Shins, Sigur Ros, etc. Basically anything that makes a noise can inspire us.

Story behind the song
This one, along with "Mark the Ham Sandwich" and "The Open Plain", were something of an unholy triumvirate- all recorded roughly at the same time, for the same reason. "Hi, I know it's none of my business, but in my opinion, you're screwing up your life, not paying attention to the important stuff but just partying all the time. The crowd you're running with definitely does not have your best interests at heart. That stuff'll catch up with you. I shall now proceed to have an inner dialogue about the fact I probably won't do anything about it, which will shift seamlessly between 4/4 and 6/8 despite the best efforts of the piano player." Oh, yeah: there's 3/4 in there too, at a different tempo than everything else. Hey, you want straight 4's?! Look elsewhere! (heh...) But most poignantly and importantly, this one demonstrates the absolutely mind-blowing talent of the late Darrell Taylor, and how, unfortunately, we failed to engineer to his justice. If we'd any idea that a few years later... He was without any doubt the finest, sharpest, most creative, intuitive drummer God has ever blessed us with. RIP, Bomber.
Lyrics
The last time I saw her she was going upstairs, to meet the new people that thought she was theirs. She paused for a moment to wipe off her brow, 'cause the boys will require a sacrifice now... Don't tell me you're not happy here Don't tell me that you did it out of fear Don't tell me you want one more beer Don't tell me that I won't interfere She kept up the stairs and soon she was gone, unaware of the crowd roaring her on. Many men had made sure that she would arrive, but she may not have ever left that room alive. Don't tell me you're not happy here Don't tell me that I won't interfere
