Melodic Rock-Inspired A Cappella... Original Music by Multi-Vocalist/ Songwriter Eric Gwin
Eric Gwin is a Vocal Musician who has been writing, recording, and performing A Cappella music for over 30 years. Often referred to by his listeners as a "Progressive Multi-Vocalist", Eric combines multiple layers of harmony and unique human percussion sounds with dazzling studio effects, creating modern rock music with a positive message. Eric is a firm believer in the idea that we're all here for a purpose. He believes that his purpose is to use music to bring people together, all the while pushing the "sonic envelope" as far as he can by creating music that is truly original, innovative, and unlike any you've ever heard.

Story behind the song
Okay…this one deserves a lot of explanation. This group, C.I.A., began as a puppet skit on a mission trip to York, PA. Baron Goins, Todd Mowry, Jason Todd, Marc Newman, and Jon Owen were the puppeteers and they performed a rap tune as part of one of their skits. Well, it went over great, and people began encouraging them to write more music in this genre. Thus was born the first, and probably only, Christian acappella rap group. C.I.A. (Christians In Action) performed very few concerts and they only recorded one album, which is now out of print. Produced by Jon Owen, their album, “The Reason”, featured writing, arranging, and vocal contributions from Jon, Rob Williams, Mark Thompson, and me. This song is the only one that I wrote for the album and it features all four members of the group on lead. Although there were several songs written for a proposed second album, it never materialized. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
Lyrics
Yes! Cooperation is the key to the plan you never know 'til you try it they might buy it if we work together for the good of man Discipleship is what I'm talking about, working together to get the truth out. Everybody's gotta hear about the Christ, how he'll help you out with your trouble and strife. Even if you're livin' right  you need him by your side (yeah, that's right!) so work together! Come on strong! He'll be here before too long! Discipleship! Discipleship! I am not ashamed!  To declare the name  of the one who died for me so I can be free. Now it's time to make the world see just what they're missin' I think its time for them to listen! Work together for the Lord! We gotta spread the word! Discipleship! Discipleship! Here's the thought: Listen to the teacher and the lesson. Class is in session and you can stop guessin'. If this is the time, then the time is right  For change, so stop the fight! Try your best to put yourself to the test and live the way he wants you to live. Now's the time and today's the day to start living according to the way. Discipleship! Discipleship! Stop! Take a look and listen! You might get just what you're wishin! All you have to do is trust in the Lord and obey his word. We try our best to do what's right and be righteous in his sight so work together for the Lord! His discipleship will save the world! Discipleship! Discipleship!
