Waltzes for a Demented Mind: Song Four
progressive ambient experimental steven wilson porcupine tree obsolete donkey jaron eldon
Artist picture
Many hybrids of songs. Good rock, metal, riffing guitars, progressive, atmospheric, electronic and trip hop aspects.
Obsolete Donkey is the solo project of Jaron Eldon. Jaron Eldon is a teenager living in a small town in Southern California. He is trying to preserve something that seems to have lost popularity, and that is having a texture, an atmosphere in his music, and to have some form of a theme in his music and albums so that you have actually been somewhere by the end of listening to the entire album. It's music with a purpose!

Story behind the song
This was probably the first song written with the idea of the, “Waltzes for a Demented Mind” project in mind. The name describes one of two places in which someone might hide bodies that they are keeping as souvenirs. This is obviously dealing with the insanity side of things. I got to experiment with a lot of analogue textures on this song, and they turned out very creepy. This was also the first time I had deviated from the overly waltz-like rhythm of, “Circus, Mommy” and “Waltz with the Voices” and it’s wonderful sounding. “Hidden in the Attic” and “Buried in the Basement” are a duo, if you will, and I tried to signify this by “banding” the songs together. Not to mention the similarities of the names.
