Story behind the song
Great, greatgrandfather was a Cherokee, that makes me part Cherokee.
Lyrics
Awi Usdi is the story of the little deer who taught the Cherokee nation(after they had discovered the bow and arrow)not to hunt/kill indiscriminately(even thought they now had the technology); not to waste their resources, to respect Mother Earth and all life on the planet, to honor the ancient ways, to give thanks and ask forgiveness of "The Great Spirit"
