melodic rock, 5 piece, post grunge rock, 3 guitar
Still Life from Toronto, Ontario.
Story behind the song
This song is about a day at the beach. Everyone in Still Life had a lot of fun building sand-castles, running around, splashing, and just having fun in the sun.
Highlights of the day included, getting ice-cream and the sand-castle competition.
The only downpoints of the day were when Otello forgot to where sunscreen and got a bad sunburn, and when Mike started throwing sand at small children. Fortunately only two of the children retained any serious damage to their eyes, but Mike had to take a fifteen minute time out and think about what he did.
Lyrics
Sun Love
I find I cannot even close my eyes
Unshakeable encompassing
I slip the pill goes slowly down my throat
To no avail
No cure his reflection still looks back at me
It speaks to me
Overwhelmed it haunts me and it steals your love
A charlatan, a villain
"Take away my Sun Love, it won’t be my first..."
Brother tell me, why have you forsaken God?
I lost myself, he replies
Head first with shards of mirror in his face
He never sleeps, he never calls his name.
Rather overwhelmed, shaking he sinks forsaken.
"Take away my Sun Love, it won’t be my first love"
He screams calling out her name, "love."
Brother tell me, do you remember the last time you felt alive?
I hope it was worth it the air, you’re choking now, my love
my Sun Love.
