FROM "Adobe Bricks Country/Folk Opera"
This is sung in tribute to the Old Man,
who helps the young homeless group.
It becomes his theme through the story.
Many silent soldiers are around us all the time.

Story behind the song
The "Soloing Soldier" is any average person,
who fights everyday to live by decent and
caring standards. They do it simply and quietly,
as a chosen way of Life. They effect many lives
for the better.
Lyrics
SOLO-ING SOLDIER
SOLO-ING SOLDIER,
WHAT DRUM DO YOU HEAR ?
YOU TRAVEL ALONE.
YOU GO ANYWHERE.
YOU SEEM SORT OF WISE,
A BIT LONELY TOO.
THERE'S DREAMS IN YOUR EYES
STILL SHINING THROUGH.
CHORUS
I DON'T KNOW YOUR BATTLE,
IF IT'S AN OLD ONE , OR NEW
DO YOU HAVE ANY MEDALS ?
WHAT FLAG FLIES FOR YOU ?
IS IT A BATTLE, WHEREVER YOU ROAM,
DEFENDNG THE WEAK, BECAUSE YOU ARE STRONG ?
TIME'S GROWING OLDER. SOME WILL GET THROUGH,
SOLO-ING SOLDIER,
THANKS TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU.
SOLO-ING SOLDIER,
I OFFER SALUTE.
I RECOGNIZE COURAGE,
AND I SEE IT IN YOU,
SOLOING SOLDIER,
SILENT AND STRONG,
I HOPE YOU REMEMBER
THIS TRIBUTE IN SONG.
CHORUS
I DON'T KNOW YOUR BATTLE,
IF IT'S AN OLD ONE , OR NEW
DO YOU HAVE ANY MEDALS ?
WHAT FLAG FLIES FOR YOU ?
IS IT A BATTLE, WHEREVER YOU ROAM,
DEFENDNG THE WEAK, BECAUSE YOU ARE STRONG ?
TIME'S GROWING OLDER. SOME WILL GET THROUGH,
SOLO-ING SOLDIER,
THANKS TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU.
