Formed in 2003 from the off cuts of some of Teesside’s strangest and most unique bands, Idiot Savant fuse the racket of “Birthday Party” with the curious English eccentricity of “The Fall” or “The Wedding Present”. Intense, darkly humourous and utterly resigned to their fate, the band members of Idiot Savant are a young but well traveled bunch. Comprising of Daniel Cochran (Vocals) and Oli Heffernan (Guitar), formerly of art rock outfit “Pointless Fanatics”, Ian Snowball (Bass), a local scene journeyman, and Ben Muriel (Drums) Ex member of the idiosyncratic Junior Elvis. A line up with at least the experience to uphold the sounds of their brilliant but ramshackle debut album “Cardboard & Piss”, the band now take their own brand of shambolic genius into the live scene.

Lyrics
Shore a cask, a silo of junk, turned foetid by time, still rampant with threat, but she just thought back, to that atonal sound, that messed with her cycles and shadowed her door. a blistering kiss, as sharp as the first, all blackened and seared and baited for two. so I wait by the shore. so I wait by the shore, and I'll wait till the end, till she's fathomed those depths, these fragments of her. a mess she was then, and a mess she'll remain, but a beautiful mess, and a beautiful swine. I wait by the shore. yeah, I wait by the shore of habit and hope. flown in for the winter, flown in with the smoke. I wait by the shore, and I'm waiting there still, and I'm fervent bout something I'll never locate, and I'm looking for something that flits out of sight. a sylph in the water and a devil inside. I wait by the shore.
