The song tells a story of youth and how some kids have little or none and yet they are resourceful to work through hardships. We hope thier dreams and wishes come true!!

Intro:
Verse I
Mr. Watsons corner store was where we all would meet
On Saturday when the chores were done after playing in the street
Us kids all brought some pennies and we spent them all but one
Then off we’d go to the wishing well, we didn’t walk, we’d run
Verse II
Tommy was a poor boy we weren’t sure of what to think
Cause he didn’t make any wishes, but he’d always take a drink
He’d never take our pennies and one-day I asked him why
Then I turned and looked at Tommy and I saw a teardrop, in his eye
Chorus
He said, “I may not have a penny, but I can drink for free
And everything you wished for, is what I want for me”
Then he bent his head and closed his eyes for a spell
As he took a drink, from the wishing well
He thought all his dreams will come true
If he drinks all the wishes, in the wishing well
Solo:
“The wishing well”……. “The wishing well”…….
Verse III
Through the woods and behind the barn stood a wishing well
Where we’d talk about our dreams the ones that we could tell
One by one we’d drop our pennies and close our eyes real tight
Then we’d make our wishes, and Tommy drank, to his delight
Chorus
“I may not have a penny, but I can drink for free
And everything you wished for, is what I want for me”
Then he bent his head and closed his eyes for a spell
As he took a drink, from the wishing well
He thought all his dreams will come true
If he drinks all the wishes, in the wishing well
