It's a song about thinking that you love way too many people in a relatively short amount of time. The pre-chorus line "I'm insane but it just may be a lunatic that you're looking for" is a direct nod to Billy Joel, namely "You May Be Right". The song moves into 3/4 time for the bridge, I always liked that. Something I always wanted to try with a song.
