one man band influenced by the sound of the 50's, motown, doowop, pop, and bossa nova.
At the ripe age of 13 with the tide of popular music turning to the sounds of punk, young Daniel Hahn was exposed to the sound of Blink 182 and New Found Glory, a fresh sound unheard to his ears. It was at these humble beginnings that Danny began to strum power chords on the family guitar. A long time has passed since those days and Danny's musical tastes run much more, sophisticated for lack of a better word, grabbing the traditional pop influences of early rock and roll, doowop, and motown, as well as unconventional means such as euro pop from sweden and norway and brazilian bossa nova. With these newfound sounds of sweet melody and harmony, Danny went about writing songs, of the whimsical nature; songs about girls, friends, comedy, and of course, more girls. And although the subject matter has changed little in the passing years, there is striking maturity in the approach of these pieces.
Always dedicated (or big-headed), Danny created Hahn Solo and the Wookies in mind so that in the recording process, it would be done as a solo project, but as a live show, any band of Wookie musicians would come and rocketh thy stage with him. You too could become a Wookie. If you like, figure out how to play the stuff...or something.
ur bye. :)
